Dianne Dion at Berkshire Medical Center in March!
Berkshire Medical Center’s March artist is Dianne Dion. There will be a reception for “Drawing with Light” in the Main Lobby of BMC on March 2nd from 2 to 4 pm.
“This exhibit is inspired by the origin of the word “Photography”. Based on the Greek root words “photo” meaning “light”, and “graphia” meaning “drawing” or “writing”, put together they mean “drawing with light”. For this project, I wanted to do just that.
Using light as a palette and the camera an instrument, these ‘drawings’ were created through the movement of the subject and/or controlled sketches by the artist. The result is a series of images depicting texture, emotion, spatial movement, and the element of surprise.”
Dianne Dion studied Photography, Painting, and Drawing at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. She has been employed by Berkshire Health Systems in the department of Health Information Management since 2002.
Light drawings printed on metallic paper are available for purchase.
