For the month of August, First Fridays Artswalk has been re-imagined to encompass outdoor locations perfect for a social distanced walk around the downtown, as well as 3 indoor locations.

Enjoy 4 new art shows, PHS student art, and 16 of Artscape’s Pittsfield Paintboxes featuring work by over a dozen accomplished regional artists during the First Fridays Artswalk on Friday, August 7, 5 to 8 pm and all month long. When participating in the August Artswalk, be sure to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from other individuals and wear your mask. A map of all locations can be viewed by clicking here!

For the month of August and through October, Dottie’s Coffee Lounge, 444 North Street, will feature Home Work – The Universe – and Abstractions. The exhibit features artists Richard Britell, Erika Larskaya, and Ashley Yang-Thompson.

Richard Britell will show small canvases that represent old math homework assignments. Erika Larskaya will show large and small abstract canvases, and Ashley Yang-Thompson will show a selection of her outrageous and controversial news-letters which have been banned in Great Barrington.

Hotel on North, 297 North Street, will feature Water, Land & Sky: A Berkshire Journey by Marita O’Dea Glodt, August 7 through September 29, a collection inspired by a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote: “Wherever snow falls, or water flows, or birds fly, wherever day and night meet in twilight, wherever the blue heaven is hung by clouds, or sown with stars, wherever are forms with transparent boundaries, wherever is danger, and awe, there is beauty.”

The Marketplace Café, 53 North Street, will feature Stacey Schultze’s The Stones Will Cry Out, featuring works in mixed media on board. The Brothership Building Window, 141 North Street, curated by IS183 Art School of the Berkshires will feature The Cage Vase by Veronica Martin.

All art exhibits are on display in participating venues throughout the month. To view a listing and map of all participating artists and locations, click here!
